Since 2001, Yvonne Sonnenberg has held the position of Executive Director for Empire Physicians Medical Group, in Rancho Mirage, CA. Previously, Ms. Sonnenberg worked as a healthcare consultant specializing in IPA development and operations, and in senior management positions in the HMO and Medical Group field. From 1995 to 1999, Ms. Sonnenberg served on the Board of the National IPA Association. In 1997, Ms. Sonnenberg was appointed as one of the IPA stakeholder representatives on the “HCFA PSO Solvency Committee”. For several years, Ms. Sonnenberg served as the Co-Chair to HMCOT (HCFA Managed Care Operations Team), which was an earlier approach to the collaborative effort initiated by ICE. Ms. Sonnenberg holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration. She also participates as part-time faculty for the University of Phoenix.
