Valerie Ridge is the Program Director at Anthem Blue Cross, where she leads the California Language Assistance Program. In addition, she has a dual role in supporting the California Grievance Officer and Grievance & Appeals Operations, focusing on Governance Oversight and Regulatory Compliance for the West region. Valerie brings over 30 years of expertise in California's health plan industry. Before joining Anthem in 2021, she spent more than 29 years at UnitedHealthcare, including her time at PacifiCare. In her previous role in the Regulatory Affairs Department at UnitedHealthcare, Valerie was an active member of the HICE Access & Availability Team. She co-leads the Cultural & Linguistics Team, collaborating with peers from various health plans and provider groups to ensure that enrollees with limited English proficiency can communicate safely and effectively with their healthcare providers.
