Valerie Ridge serves as the Program Director at Anthem Blue Cross, where she currently leads the CA Language Assistance Program. In addition, she supports the CA Grievance Officer /Grievance & Appeals Operations, facilitating Governance Oversight and Regulatory Compliance for the West region. Valerie brings over 30 years of experience within California's health plan sector, having devoted more than 29 years to UnitedHealthcare (including her tenure with PacifiCare) before transitioning to Anthem in 2021. During her time at UnitedHealthcare in the Regulatory Affairs Department, Valerie played an active role in the HICE Access & Availability Team. She is honored to co-lead the Cultural & Linguistics Team, working collaboratively with peers from various health plans and provider groups to ensure that enrollees with limited English proficiency can communicate safely and effectively with their healthcare providers.
