This conference focuses on health care industry developments and operational improvements that offer opportunities to health plans, physician organizations and industry administrators for efficiencies and standardization, and offers the opportunity to hear directly from healthcare regulators from all lines of business on up-to-the-minute topics!

This conference is one of the best values in the industry and a must for healthcare industry leadership, frontline managers and staff alike. Whether your role is in general administration, medical and pharmacy, network management, product development and sales, government, regulatory, legal or public relations, you will find this conference rich in content. Association Partnerships / Joint Presentation on Collaboration at the 2025 CAHP Annual Conference, September 29 to October 1 – JW Marriott Desert Springs

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 2:45 - 4:00 p.m. (PT), HICE and America’s Physician Groups (APG) will be conducting an informative session at the 2025 CAHP Conference - Reducing Friction while Increasing Sharing - the Health Plan and Provider Challenge”.

Health plans and health care providers share a universal goal of delivering the best care possible. In California’s unique health care system, this overarching goal has been shared for decades. Yet challenges remain, and problems are unsolved. In particular, collaboration on data collection, reporting, and information sharing continues to be challenging. There are numerous health initiatives underway in California that require the industry to work together. At this session, attendees will hear from representatives of health plans, physician groups, HICE and APG to discuss ideas for further collaboration and improvement. We are grateful to CAHP for extending this opportunity and look forward to seeing you there!

HICE Team / Website Updates

Update on Claims Standardization Team Operational Questionnaire Repository

A new website application to facilitate the storage and distribution of the HICE Claim Operational Questionnaire and supporting documents will soon be available! This will be a centralized data gathering and response to the operational questionnaire but not an audit, as this repository will be used to collect/implement the Claims Operational Questionnaire through the HICE website along with uploading requested documentation that supports the questionnaire. This will allow for cost savings for the delegated entity organizations and for the participating health plans that have a contract to access the information for their annual audits.

The HICE questionnaire is completed each year for every annual audit from the delegated entities. This centralized repository will allow delegates to complete the audit tool document offline and upload it to the HICE portal repository and all contracted Health Plans who want to participate will be able to access it. This will save the delegated entity time and effort as they will only have to complete the questionnaire once per year and upload all of their corresponding policies and procedures and supporting documents, excluding any documents with health plan-specific proprietary information, which would be collected by the plans outside of the repository structure.

This new repository is currently being built and under review by the Claims Team and is expected to be available for use for audit year 2026. Please reach out to the Claims Team Leads with any questions in the meantime.

Web-Based Tool Available for Posting Health Plan-Specific Letter Templates

As a reminder, HICE has a web-based tool available for participating health plans to be able to directly and easily manage the maintenance of their health plan-specific letter templates posted on the HICE website for delegates to access. Features include uploading templates, archiving out-of-date templates and sending a broadcast notice to those signed up to receive them that health plan-specific letter templates have been made available.

These templates can now be found in a single location on the website, regardless of subject matter. Each participating health plan has a folder in this new library category where existing templates that may be posted for their organizations can be reviewed.

If you are with a health plan and would like to be able to access this web-based tool to upload health plan-specific letter templates on behalf of your organization, please send an e-mail request to admin@iceforhealth.org.

If you would like to receive e-mail notifications when letter templates are added/updated by health plans, you must add the "Health Plan Specific Letter Template Notifications" team to your HICE account – see the website Teams page for instructions on how to do this.

Until the next update, please feel free to contact me at mmyers@iceforhealth.org or at 530-562-4235, with any suggestions, questions or comments. Thank you!
