Message:	HICE 2026 Annual Conference Announcement As I announced in my most recent update sent on March 19, the HICE Board of Directors recently participated in an all-day offsite meeting to discuss the 5-year business plan for the organization, which also included evaluating the best approach and format for future events, including the annual conference. As our past attendees are aware, the HICE Annual Conference is a tremendously important and valued event due to its uniqueness in bringing together those who work on the front lines to implement and standardize a myriad of regulatory requirements. We know how many of you look forward to the learning opportunities and to networking with your peers, as well as interacting with the regulators, which is why it is our duty as an organization to complete our due diligence when it comes to future events. Given that, the Board of Directors and I have decided to forgo having an annual conference in 2026 and to instead use this as a transition year to re-evaluate both the content and location of any future conferences. There are several reasons behind this decision, including: The location change for the past three years to Southern California has been a challenge, as well as changes in the work environment for the CMS regional offices since the pandemic. This has resulted in a lack of in-person participation from CMS, which has long been a defining aspect of the HICE conference. The political landscape, including upcoming elections in California and corresponding leadership changes, as well as the national mid-term elections. We will use this transition year to review the structure, content and timing of future conferences, as we know the agenda, access to the regulators and networking opportunities are of paramount importance to our attendees, with the goal of bringing a robust educational experience to the industry that offers all those things and more! We truly appreciate your past attendance and participation, and we will continue to communicate and keep you updated as decisions are made.
